Public Transport in Algiers Expands to 245 ETUSA Routes

The Urban and Suburban Public Transport Establishment of Algiers (ETUSA) has announced a significant reinforcement of its public transport network in the capital, effective Sunday, September 20, 2026, for the 2026-2027 social season. This initiative follows specific instructions issued by the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, with the announcement made via ETUSA's official Facebook page.

To support this expansion, ETUSA has mobilized all its human and material resources, substantially increasing the number of buses in circulation. This enhancement aims to ensure fluid and secure service across all operational lines. The strengthened program includes a comprehensive daytime service that will cover 222 lines throughout Algiers and its surrounding areas, providing extensive connectivity for residents.

Complementing the daytime operations, a dedicated night service will also be implemented, offering 23 additional lines. The daytime routes are scheduled to operate from 06:00 to 18:30, while the night service will commence with departures starting at 19:00, with the last buses completing their routes by midnight. This expanded coverage by ETUSA is designed to facilitate a smooth and efficient social season for all public transport users in Algiers, enhancing urban mobility and accessibility.
