Minister Zerrouki Seeks AI, Tech Partnerships with Senegal, Ghana
Algerian Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, held a series of bilateral meetings with technology sector officials and stakeholders during his participation in the fourth edition of the Global Forum on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence 2026 in Riyadh. The forum, held from September 14 to 17, provided a platform for discussions on critical advancements in the digital sphere and opportunities for international collaboration.
During these meetings, Minister Zerrouki engaged with Samba Diouf, Senegal's Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs, and Samuel Nartey George, Ghana's Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation. Their discussions centered on enhancing partnerships in artificial intelligence governance, developing digital infrastructure, and exchanging expertise to build capabilities in modern technologies. The officials also highlighted the importance of unifying visions and coordinating positions among nations to collectively address global technology institutions, advocating for fair access to technology, infrastructure, and data and strengthening negotiating power.
Furthermore, Mr. Zerrouki met with Saad bin Saleh Al-Aboudi, CEO of the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE). This meeting included a presentation on SITE's operations and explored potential partnership and cooperation opportunities in information technology solutions, cybersecurity, and various digital services. These engagements underscore Algeria's commitment to bolstering its international cooperation in digital and technological domains, aiming to leverage global expertise and shared experiences to advance its national digital transformation agenda and modern technology ecosystem.
