PNA Chief of Staff Recognizes World Champion Runner Djamel Sedjati

General Saïd Chanegriha, who serves as the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (PNA), honored runner Djamel Sedjati on Saturday at the army staff headquarters in Algiers. The recognition followed Sedjati's recent triumph as the 800-meter world champion at the Ultimate Elite World Championships, held in Budapest, Hungary. Sedjati also holds the rank of Contract First Sergeant, an event confirmed by the Ministry of National Defence in a statement.
During the ceremony, General Chanegriha conveyed the felicitations of the President of the Republic, who is the Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, to the world champion. The General emphasized that Sedjati's historic achievement further confirms the pre-eminence of Algerian sport within this specific discipline, underscoring the nation's pride in its athletes' international successes.
The General also urged Djamel Sedjati to continue his diligent efforts in upcoming competitions, aiming to secure top positions and proudly raise the national colors on the international stage. In response, the world champion expressed his profound pride and gratitude for the personal support extended by the High Command of the People's National Army, as well as the broader encouragement for military sports. Sedjati affirmed that this support significantly contributed to his remarkable exploit and reiterated his commitment to relentless work for future successes.
