International Cancer Patient Congress Set for Algiers in 2026

Algeria will host the second International Congress for Cancer Patients on September 22-23, 2026, at the El Aurassi Hotel in Algiers. Organized by the Algerian Federation of Associations of Cancer Patients (FAAPAC), this significant event will be held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and in partnership with the Ministry of Health. The congress, themed "The patient at the heart of a comprehensive national approach," aims to unite all stakeholders involved in the fight against cancer, including institutions, organizations, medical and scientific corporations, experts, specialist practitioners, and field actors.

This edition seeks to reinforce an unprecedented intersectoral commitment, mobilizing several key institutional partners. These include the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Affairs, and the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry. The participation of these decision-makers provides the congress with a strong institutional dimension, reflecting a concrete desire to promote a national, integrated, and complementary approach to combating cancer. This strategy prioritizes prevention, early detection, and therapeutic effectiveness.

The chosen slogan for the second edition aligns with the directives of President Tebboune, who has advocated for a holistic national strategy centered on prevention and placing the patient at the forefront of all concerns. This approach necessitates a unified effort from all sectors, partners, and associations, covering every phase of cancer care, from awareness and early detection to ensuring optimal therapeutic management for all cancer patients across Algeria.
