Souk Ahras Customs Seize 1,642 Ecstasy Pills, Powder

Algerian Customs successfully intercepted a significant quantity of illicit substances in Souk Ahras. The operation, conducted by the M’daourouch multi-purpose brigade under the Souk Ahras Divisional Customs Inspectorate, led to the seizure of 1,642 ecstasy pills and approximately 140 grams of ecstasy powder.
This successful intervention followed the exploitation of intelligence, combined with a carefully planned surveillance and ambush operation. Authorities also apprehended the driver of the vehicle transporting the seized contraband and impounded the vehicle. This action was carried out in coordination with the territorially competent public prosecutor's office.
The General Directorate of Customs (DGD) highlighted that this operation underscores the vigilance and readiness of Algerian Customs services. It reflects ongoing effective efforts in the national fight against smuggling and the illicit trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, reinforcing national security and public safety.
