Nationwide School Readiness Ensured for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Educational institutions across Algeria have finalized comprehensive preparations for the 2026/2027 school re-entry. These efforts, conducted nationwide, aim to ensure optimal conditions and a suitable environment for students returning to classes, marking the official start of the new academic year. Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui, confirmed the official launch of the academic season.
Over the past week, extensive field operations were conducted across various wilayas to oversee and ensure the readiness of educational facilities. These operations included the inauguration and reception of newly constructed institutions, alongside detailed inspections of ongoing renovation, maintenance, and restoration works. Significant attention was also directed towards enhancing the cleanliness and overall readiness of school surroundings, in addition to monitoring expansion and construction projects.
Local officials, including Walis, held a series of coordination meetings with relevant sectors and stakeholders to complete necessary arrangements. A primary focus of these discussions was to guarantee the provision of school transport and meals from the very first day of the academic year. Furthermore, instructions from the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, were implemented to establish dedicated spaces and sales points for school supplies, facilitating access for families. These integrated preparations underscore the commitment to ensuring a smooth and successful start to the 2026/2027 academic year.
