Tebboune Leads Cabinet Discussion on Civil Protection, Digital Link

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, serving as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, presided over a Council of Ministers meeting on Sunday. The session focused on several key national matters, including a comprehensive review of the fundamental law pertaining to Civil Protection personnel and their compensation framework, alongside initiatives to enhance digital connectivity across state institutions. A review of the 2026 harvest and threshing campaign results was also on the agenda, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.

A significant portion of the discussions was dedicated to the Civil Protection corps. The Council addressed the revision of the specific status and compensation scheme for these personnel. This initiative aims to ensure their foundational legal framework is updated. Furthermore, the meeting emphasized the importance of reinforcing the Civil Protection sector by providing the necessary structures, material resources, and human capabilities required for them to effectively carry out their duties, thereby bolstering their operational readiness and capacity.
