CNAS Expands Services to Six Operating Days Weekly

The National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) in Algeria has extended its operating hours to six days a week, a move announced by Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Mohamed Hattab. This expansion, which includes the opening of centers nationwide on Saturday mornings, is part of a renewed commitment to enhance the quality of public service and increase accessibility for citizens across the country.

The decision to open CNAS centers on Saturdays directly addresses the challenges faced by salaried workers who often find it difficult to manage their social security matters during standard weekdays. This measure is integrated into a broader policy of periodic monitoring and continuous improvement, aiming to optimize performance indicators, modernize infrastructure, and ensure better support for insured individuals and their beneficiaries.

Beyond extended hours, a significant focus has been placed on the digital transformation of social security services. Initiatives are underway to dematerialize processes, working towards a "zero displacement" goal where users can complete routine procedures without physical visits, thereby saving considerable time and reducing congestion at service counters. The CNAS also enacted emergency measures to support insured persons affected by recent fires, including facilitating the renewal and expediting the delivery of Chifa cards to affected areas, ensuring continuity of medical care and reimbursements.
