National U20 Team Begins Africa Cup Qualifying Bid in Egypt

The Algerian national football team for players under 20 is scheduled to play its Tunisian counterpart this Thursday at 2:30 PM. The match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, marking the first round of the North African Football Union (UNAF) tournament. This competition serves as a crucial qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The Algerian squad, led by coach Hocin Larbi, arrived in Egypt on Monday to prepare for the tournament. The team aims for a successful start in the competition, which is vital for their qualification aspirations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, planned to be held in Ghana.

For this significant tournament, the national coach has called up a roster of 24 players. The North African Football Union tournament is set to run from September 24 to October 6. The Tunisian U20 team's coach, Nabil Trabelsi, has also selected 24 players for their participation in the event.
