Haskovo Chamber Eyes Algerian Energy, Agri-Food Investment

The Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, located in southern Bulgaria, has expressed a significant interest in entering the Algerian market. This declaration of intent aims to broaden economic and trade relations between the two nations and foster direct communication among their respective economic stakeholders. The primary objective is to explore new opportunities for partnerships and investment across various sectors.

On Thursday, September 24, Algeria's Ambassador to Sofia, Asma Baabouch, held discussions with officials from the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding strategies to develop and expand economic and commercial ties. The meeting, which included the Governor of Kardzhali province and local businessmen, covered potential cooperation areas such as agri-food industries, agriculture, mechanical engineering, pharmaceutical industries, information and communication technology, energy, tourism, industry, and logistics.

During the session, Ambassador Baabouch presented a comprehensive overview of Algeria's legal and regulatory framework, outlining investment opportunities, available incentives, and tax facilities designed to enhance the business environment. She underscored the importance of strengthening direct engagement between economic actors and promoting initiatives that open new avenues for cooperation and investment, thereby contributing to the robust development of economic relations between Algeria and Bulgaria.
