The United Nations has reported that nearly 124,000 people in famine-prone areas of Sudan, including the city of El Fasher in North Darfur, have been severely impacted by heavy rains. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric highlighted ongoing efforts to provide life-saving assistance, including therapeutic food for 6,000 malnourished children in South Darfur. The floods, which have affected over half a million people since June, are worsening the humanitarian crisis and increasing the risk of disease outbreaks such as cholera.
