The official export ceremony took place today at the General Electric Algeria Turbine (GEAT) factory in Batna, a joint venture between Sonelgaz and the American company General Electric (GE). The shipment includes a significant delivery of electrical equipment to the Iraqi company Taurus Arm For Power Generation, Oil Trading, and Transportation Ltd.. The export consists of a gas turbine generator of the types “h53” and “0h5,” with a capacity of 300 megawatts, along with additional accessories.

This export operation aligns with the Algerian government’s directives to gradually reduce reliance on hydrocarbons by diversifying economic activities and promoting national products. Sonelgaz emphasized its commitment to expanding its exports and boosting local integration through its subsidiaries. The company has rapidly activated key commercial partnerships on both domestic and international fronts, showcasing its economic efficiency in fulfilling the country’s strategic directives.

Sonelgaz further highlighted its substantial role in enhancing the energy sector’s value chain, fostering growth, and developing local expertise. This initiative underscores the group’s active contribution to national development, in line with the economic vision adopted by Algeria’s leadership.
