The Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Products announced today the conclusion of the biological rest period for fish, which extended from June 1 to September 30. During this time, fishing vessels were prohibited from using surface and semi-surface purse seine nets, as well as bottom trawl nets.
In a statement, the ministry commended the professionalism and civic responsibility displayed by fishermen and vessel operators, who refrained from fishing within the three-nautical-mile zone. This measure was implemented to protect fish stocks and ensure their sustainability.
