Today, Wednesday, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune installed the National Committee for the Review of the Municipal and Wilaya Laws, fulfilling a commitment made during his election campaign and reaffirmed during his swearing-in ceremony.
According to a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, the former Minister of the Interior and Local Communities, Daho Ould Kablia, has been appointed as the chairman of the committee. Meanwhile, Abdullah Mounji, the Secretary-General of the Presidency, was named deputy chairman.
The committee also includes five members representing various institutions, including the Council of the Nation, deputies from the National People’s Assembly, governors, presidents of provincial popular councils, and directors of regulation and general affairs from the wilayas. Additionally, five municipal popular council presidents have been appointed.
The National Committee will begin its duties immediately following its installation.
