Sultan of Oman and Algerian President Lead Expanded Talks in Muscat

Muscat, October 29, 2024 – The Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq, and the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired extensive bilateral talks between delegations from both countries on Tuesday in Muscat.

The discussions, held at the prestigious Al Alam Royal Palace, focused on reinforcing bilateral cooperation and expanding it to new horizons. The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East, as well as other pressing international topics.

Before the official discussions, President Tebboune was welcomed with a grand reception at Al Alam Royal Palace by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

During the reception, both leaders listened to the national anthems of Algeria and Oman, while a 21-gun salute was fired in honor of President Tebboune’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The Algerian President arrived in Oman on Monday, following an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. Upon landing at Muscat International Airport, President Tebboune was warmly received by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

The visit aims to strengthen the ties of brotherhood, cooperation, and dialogue between the two nations, underscoring the mutual desire to foster closer relations and address common regional and international challenges.
