Several world leaders have sent congratulatory messages to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Algeria’s Liberation Revolution. The Algerian Presidency released a statement highlighting the messages received, which underscored the deep respect and cooperation between Algeria and these nations.
Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa expressed his heartfelt wishes on behalf of the Portuguese people, extending hopes for Algeria’s continued progress and prosperity. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the friendship and economic cooperation between Portugal and Algeria for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
From Palestine, President Mahmoud Abbas extended his warm congratulations, paying tribute to Algeria’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause, as well as its humanitarian and economic aid to the Palestinian people. Abbas commended Algeria’s efforts in international arenas, especially during its recent tenure on the United Nations Security Council, where Algeria advocated for Palestinian unity and reconciliation.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also sent his best wishes to President Tebboune, expressing hopes for continued health and success for the Algerian leader, and further prosperity for the Algerian people. Sisi praised the historic ties and brotherhood between Egypt and Algeria, expressing a commitment to advancing bilateral relations and maintaining close coordination to benefit both nations.
Ibrahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Sahrawi people. He emphasized the symbolic role of Algeria’s revolutionary struggle as an inspiration for liberation movements worldwide and expressed appreciation for Algeria’s unwavering support for the Sahrawi cause in line with the principles of the November 1st Revolution, United Nations resolutions, and the African Union’s founding charter.
Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of North Korea, also extended his congratulations, expressing confidence in the growth of friendly relations between Algeria and North Korea.
Irish President Michael Higgins sent his best wishes to President Tebboune and the Algerian people, hoping for their continued well-being and success.
