Algerian Prime Minister Inaugurates the 27th Edition of the Algiers International Book Fair

Algiers – On Wednesday, Algerian Prime Minister Nadhir Larbaoui presided over the official inauguration of the 27th Algiers International Book Fair (November 6-16). The event, held at the SAFEX Exhibition Center in Algiers, is organized under the esteemed patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Prime Minister Larbaoui, accompanied by Presidential Advisor for Education, Higher Education, Vocational Training, and Culture, Mohamed El-Saghir Saadaoui, as well as several government officials, led the opening ceremony. Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Culture and this year’s Guest of Honor, attended the inauguration alongside members of Algeria’s diplomatic corps.

During his tour, Larbaoui visited several exhibitor booths, starting with the booth of the National People’s Army, located in the central pavilion. Here, he examined various publications from the National Center for Studies and Research in Algerian Military History, the Higher Military School of Information and Communication, and the National Military Publications Center, which issues the Army Magazine. Detailed explanations were provided regarding the latest works in military history and communication studies.

The 27th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair, a prominent cultural event in Algeria, is organized under the slogan, “We Read to Triumph,” a theme that aligns with Algeria’s ongoing celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the start of the Algerian Revolution on November 1. This year’s fair hosts 1,007 publishers from 40 countries, including 290 Algerian publishers, who together showcase over 300,000 titles.

The book fair will open its doors to the public starting Thursday, with daily visiting hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
