Algiers – Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology recently hosted the final event of the National Robotics Competition, now in its third edition, centered on the pressing issue of “Ocean and Sea Pollution,” as noted in a statement by the university on Friday.
The competition, held on Thursday and organized by the university’s scientific club “CELAC” in collaboration with the Electrical Engineering Faculty, saw the victory of the “Elyas” team from Houari Boumediene University, who claimed first place. The “Thunders” team from the National Polytechnic School secured second place, and the “Nabteker” team from Ghardaia took third.
Speaking on the event’s theme, CELAC’s scientific club president, Mr. Mounsef Zakaria Belaid, emphasized the significance of this environmental topic, providing detailed insights into the specialized robots designed for waste collection in water bodies.
Dean of the Electrical Engineering Faculty, Mr. Kamal Boujet, described the competition as “an opportunity to encourage young Algerians to innovate and excel in technology and robotics,” underscoring the importance of nurturing local talent in these fields.
