Today, Sunday, following the Dhuhr prayer, the funeral of the late Algerian football legend and National Liberation Front (FLN) team star, Rachid Mekhloufi, will be held at the El Alia Cemetery in Algiers. Mekhloufi, who passed away this past Friday at the age of 88, succumbed to a long battle with a serious illness.
The body of the beloved national icon arrived Saturday night at Houari Boumediene International Airport, where Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laid Rebika, was present alongside Mekhloufi’s family, close friends, and a number of his colleagues.
