Algiers – Algeria’s Constitutional Court is set to participate in the 21st Mixed Meeting on Constitutional Justice, held in Yerevan, Armenia, on November 15, according to a press release from the Court on Thursday. This prominent gathering will bring together representatives of constitutional bodies from various countries to discuss and enhance cooperation in constitutional justice.
The Constitutional Court, represented by the Head of its Cabinet, will join the meeting hosted by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia. Additionally, a high-level conference will precede the meeting on November 14, focusing on the theme of “Respecting Decisions of Constitutional Courts.”
The Mixed Meeting on Constitutional Justice serves as a platform for communication officers from constitutional courts and councils worldwide. The event aims to train and equip these officers with skills to manage and operate the electronic database and newsletter dedicated to comparative constitutional jurisprudence.
This gathering also strengthens cooperation and facilitates experience exchange among participating constitutional bodies. It fosters communication channels between member institutions and the Secretariat of the European Commission for Democracy through Law, which also serves as the Secretariat for the World Conference on Constitutional Justice.
Participants will also review preparations for the upcoming Sixth World Conference on Constitutional Justice, slated to be held in Madrid, Spain, in the final quarter of 2025. This conference, one of the largest global gatherings in the field of constitutional justice, now includes 120 constitutional courts, councils, and supreme courts from Africa, North and South America, Asia, and Europe. It stands as an essential forum for exchanging insights and experiences in constitutional justice worldwide.
