In an electrifying match held at the Hussein Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria triumphed over Liberia with a resounding 5-1 victory in the sixth and final round of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifiers. The Algerian team demonstrated its dominance and secured the top spot in Group E.
Liberia initially took the lead with a goal by Doah Sampson in the 6th minute, but Algeria responded emphatically. The equalizer came through Aïssa Mandi in the 20th minute, followed by a stunning goal from captain Riyad Mahrez in the 29th minute. The second half saw even more fireworks, with Baghdad Bounedjah (64’), Amine Gouiri (74’), and Mohamed Amoura (90+5’) all finding the back of the net, sealing the comprehensive win.
