On Thursday, Algeria’s Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, chaired an important meeting where members of the National Social Services Committee for Education Workers presented their activity and financial reports for the 2021–2024 term. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the ministry’s central administration.
Preparations for Upcoming Elections
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, the meeting aimed to prepare for the imminent elections of members for the provincial and national social services committees, whose terms are set to expire. The national committee is scheduled to present its reports to representatives of recognized unions within the sector on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Lycée of Mathematics, Mohand Mokhbi, in Kouba.
Ministry’s Support for the Committee
During the meeting, Minister Belabed emphasized the ministry’s ongoing commitment to supporting the committee throughout its mandate. He noted that the ministry had provided all necessary facilitation to ensure the committee executed its decisions within the legal deadlines and in compliance with applicable laws, particularly concerning health services, social aid, and solidarity programs.
Acknowledgment of Collaboration
The chairperson of the National Social Services Committee expressed gratitude for the ministry’s continuous support, highlighting its role in enabling the committee to fulfill its responsibilities effectively during the previous term.
