International Philharmonic of Algeria Holds Inaugural Concert

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune underscored the necessity of cultural and artistic development across all fields to complement Algeria's current economic growth, aiming for the nation to rediscover its deeply rooted historical glories. This directive was issued after the inaugural concert of the International Philharmonic Orchestra of Algeria, which the President attended at the Algiers Opera Boualem-Bessaïh. The event coincided with the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the glorious National Liberation Revolution, marking a significant cultural stride for the country.

President Tebboune lauded this "important cultural achievement," which was led by Maestro Amine Kouider and themed "Algeria… an immortal symphony." The performance saw the attendance of senior state officials, government members, and representatives from the accredited diplomatic corps in Algeria. Maestro Kouider, on behalf of Algerian musicians both domestically and abroad, expressed gratitude to the President, identifying the orchestra as "the project of the President of the Republic" and describing it as a "cultural, artistic, and civilizational project," emphasizing its profound significance for national identity.

The concert's musical program was divided into three segments: patriotism, universal classical music masterpieces, and Algerian musical heritage. The patriotic section featured renditions of national songs like "Min Djibalina" and "Ya Chahid Al-Watan," alongside excerpts from film scores such as "Patrouille à l’Est" and "La Bataille d’Alger." Global classical works by composers including Johann Strauss, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Mikhail Glinka comprised the second part, while iconic Algerian music, including "El Hamdoulillah mabkach istimar fi bladna" and "Wahran Wahran," concluded the performance. The decision to establish this 70-member orchestra, operating under Maestro Kouider's artistic, musical, and administrative direction, was previously made by the President, intending to advance symphonic music and strengthen Algeria's cultural influence globally.
