Government : Land Digitalization, University Project Funding, and Climate Transition Top Agenda in Meeting Chaired by Sifi Ghrieb

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb chaired a government meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, dedicated to evaluating the economic land census, digitalizing investment procedures, and reviewing funding mechanisms for innovative university projects.

The meeting reviewed preliminary results of the industrial and economic land census launched in accordance with presidential directives. The government emphasized the urgent need to accelerate the full digitalization of investment procedures in coordination with relevant sectors, aiming to feed data directly into the Single Window database at the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI).

Regarding innovation, the cabinet received a presentation on funding and support mechanisms for university projects eligible for patenting, industrialization, and commercialization. This initiative aims to assist student innovators in creating startups and launching their own businesses. Concurrently, a presentation was delivered on the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan through 2035 a complement to the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) submitted to UN bodies last June designed to build national resilience and integrate climate adaptation into public policies.

Finally, cabinet members examined practical steps for launching construction projects for several multi-sport complexes and Olympic villages. These key infrastructure developments aim to promote athletic participation nationwide and enhance Algeria's capacity to host major international sporting events.

Wissem Chergui
