Deputies Stress National Cohesion Through 2027 Social Budget
The Algerian Parliament is discussing the 2027 Finance Law, which maintains the state's social character, protects purchasing power, and includes wage increases. Deputies emphasize strengthening national cohesion and the internal front in response to regional challenges.

Parliamentary deputies have positively assessed the draft 2027 Finance Law, recognizing its commitment to maintaining the state's social character. The proposed legislation includes several measures aimed at protecting citizens' purchasing power, notably by exempting them from new taxes and approving wage increases. Furthermore, it continues to guarantee free healthcare, uphold national solidarity initiatives, and support widely consumed goods, reinforcing fundamental aspects of social welfare.
During their discussions, deputies underscored the importance of strengthening Algeria's internal front and national cohesion. This emphasis is viewed as crucial given the sensitive regional situation and the challenges the nation faces. Deputies, including Allouche Amin, specifically called for this reinforcement, linking the social provisions of the finance law directly to the country's stability and resilience against external factors.
Lawmakers also highlighted additional positive provisions and offered constructive suggestions for enhancement. Deputy Haddad Ali advocated for removing administrative obstacles to facilitate development projects, particularly in public works and transport, to boost economic momentum. Deputies from the Movement for the Society of Peace lauded the substantial budget allocated for 2027 and the continuation of presidential directives on wage increases, while Deputy Karim Abdelkader praised significant programs dedicated to youth employment. Other proposals included regulating digital commerce, simplifying administrative procedures, expanding governors' powers for timely decisions, and establishing a special account for natural disasters, all aimed at fostering development and modernizing administration.
