CSKA's Mohamed Azzi Earns First National Call-Up
The Algerian national football team has announced its latest squad, featuring new call-ups Mohamed Azzi and Abdelrahmane Rebbach, as it prepares for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Brahim Hemdani, the coach of the Algerian national football team, has announced the squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. The team is set to play a double confrontation against Togo on November 14 and 17. This selection includes new faces, highlighting the continuous development and integration of talent into the national side.
Among the notable additions is CSKA Moscow defender Mohamed Azzi, who has earned his first call-up to the national team. Joining him is Abdelrahmane Rebbach, a winger from Spanish club Deportivo Alavés, making his debut in the squad. Sohaib Naïr, a defender who first appeared for the Fennecs last month, has also been included in the 26-player roster for these crucial matches. Rebbach, originally from Blida, has demonstrated his progression through Alavés’s academy and has seen his market value rise to 2.5 million euros.
The national team's coaching staff is also actively monitoring other promising talents for potential future selections. Coach Hemdani confirmed that Ilyes Hammache, a left-back, is “in the radars” following strong club performances, indicating that the door remains open for a future call-up if he continues his progression. Furthermore, the Algerian Football Federation maintains regular contact with Khalis Merah and Yanis Massolin, observing their situations closely as they are considered for national team opportunities. These ongoing evaluations underscore the commitment to fostering a competitive and evolving squad.
