General Chengriha Inspects 3rd Military Region Readiness

General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP) and Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defense, commenced a work and inspection visit to the 3rd Military Region on Saturday. The visit, announced by the Ministry of National Defense, aimed to supervise operations and verify the preparation of troops. It began at the Sector Command headquarters in Bechar, where General Chengriha was received by Major General Nasser Eddine Fadil, Commander of the 3rd Military Region.

During his visit, General Chengriha paid respects at the memorial for Hero Martyr Mustapha Ben Boulaïd, whose name graces the headquarters. Following this, he engaged with executives and personnel of the Region, delivering a directive speech that was also followed remotely by all personnel via video conferencing. In his address, General Chengriha affirmed Algeria's consistent role as a factor of stability in its regional area, driven by its commitment to fostering brotherhood, solidarity, and good neighborliness, alongside unwavering respect for state sovereignty and independence under international law.

General Chengriha reiterated President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's emphasis on the crucial link between security and development to address the multi-dimensional challenges prevalent in the Sahel region. He underscored that Algeria's proactive efforts to provide economic, developmental, and military assistance to countries in this geopolitical space are rooted in its profound understanding that the security of these nations directly extends to its own national security. Algeria positions itself as an authentic partner in managing Sahel crises, not an external actor, recognizing that the stability of its neighbors is a prerequisite for its own stability and that comprehensive development serves as the optimal strategy to safeguard the region's populations against terrorism, extremism, and associated crimes. These initiatives are manifested through promising structural projects designed to enhance shared infrastructure and generate new development opportunities.

The visit concluded with General Chengriha listening to the concerns and suggestions of the 3rd Military Region's executives and personnel. The military staff conveyed their resolute determination to intensify efforts in fully executing their assigned missions, particularly in securing borders and protecting the national territory from all potential afflictions and threats. This demonstrates the ongoing vigilance and preparedness of the Algerian military, contributing significantly to national security.
