Libyan Students Begin Studies at “20 Août” University

University "20 Août" in Skikda recently welcomed two students from Libya, one to re-enroll in a second-year doctorate program in Economic, Commercial, and Management Sciences, and the other for a Master's program specializing in Electrotechnics. Their reception was overseen by University Director Professor Toufik Boufendi, accompanied by the committee monitoring international students involved in the "Study in Algeria" program. This initiative aims to bolster the university's international engagement and strengthen academic collaboration with friendly and sisterly nations.

During the meeting, Professor Boufendi extended a welcome to the international students, expressing satisfaction with their enrollment at Skikda University. He affirmed the institution's dedication to providing a conducive academic and social environment, alongside comprehensive support and guidance to ensure a successful university experience. The students were also provided with detailed information about available university services and facilities, as well as an introduction to Skikda province's tourism, archaeological sites, and industrial infrastructure. The Libyan students, in turn, expressed their contentment and enthusiasm for the warm reception and their upcoming academic journey.

According to Professor Boufendi, this endeavor underscores the "20 Août 1955" University's commitment to expanding its global presence, forging new academic partnerships, and establishing itself as a preferred destination for international students. This aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's broader directives to foster international academic cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise among universities. Skikda University currently enrolls approximately 92 international students from 13 different countries, with 80% originating from Palestine and the Sahrawi Arab Republic.
