Algiers – On the sidelines of the 41st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development held in Algiers, the Algerian Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Mr. Lakhdar Rakhroukh, met with the Tunisian Minister of Equipment and Housing, Mrs. Sarah Zafrani Zenzri. The discussions focused on exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, according to a statement issued by the Ministry on Thursday.
The meeting, held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, was requested by Mrs. Sarah Zafrani Zenzri and attended by Tunisia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Ramadhan Al-Fayedh, along with senior officials from both ministries.
During the discussions, the two sides explored avenues to strengthen collaboration in public works and infrastructure development through the execution of major projects aimed at improving transportation and mobility, as highlighted in the statement.
The ministers emphasized the importance of fostering integration between Algerian and Tunisian institutions by initiating joint projects in road construction and highways. The expertise of Algerian companies, particularly in building railways and guided transport systems, was acknowledged as a key asset.
Furthermore, both parties stressed the necessity of enhancing cooperation in “training skilled professionals in the field of public works and basic infrastructure,” the statement concluded.
