Sétif Hosts the 10th Edition of the National Classical Music Days

Sétif – The tenth edition of the National Classical Music Days kicked off on Saturday at the Hassan Belkired Municipal Theater in downtown Sétif, marking the return of this beloved event after a six-year hiatus.

In a statement to the press, Mounir Serait, honorary president of the Cultural and Arts Association of Sétif Municipality, highlighted the significance of this festival, which is being organized in collaboration with the Municipal People’s Council. Over three days, audiences will be treated to a rich selection of global classical music masterpieces, performed by prominent national artists and ensembles.

Opening Night Highlights
On the first evening, the audience, largely composed of families, was captivated by a refined musical performance from the duo Khalil Wali and Abderrahmane Djellouli of Sétif, showcasing violin and piano melodies. This was followed by a solo guitar performance by artist Khalil Tourch from the same region. The evening concluded with a symphonic performance by the orchestra of the Annaba Regional Institute for Musical Training.

Day Two Line-Up
The second day promises more enchanting performances, featuring the orchestra from the Laghouat Regional Institute for Musical Training, a presentation by the Classical Music Cultural Association of Sétif under the baton of maestro El Aid Ferhat, and a solo performance by Meryem Omrani, a local artist.

Grand Finale
The final day will feature a diverse showcase by the orchestra of the National Higher Institute of Music from Algiers. Additionally, a video presentation will highlight the perspectives and experiences of participants from previous editions of the festival, offering a reflective glance at the event’s legacy.
