Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune praised the remarkable national spirit exhibited by Algerian youth during a speech on Tuesday in Algiers. He called on officials at all levels to maintain constant engagement with citizens, especially the younger generation.
Speaking at the Palais des Nations in Club des Pins, where he presided over the opening of the government meeting with provincial governors, President Tebboune stated:
“Thank God for the strong national flame we see in our youth. We must meet their expectations, as our nation has made immense sacrifices, with over 5.6 million martyrs, from the 70 years of popular resistance to the blessed liberation revolution that ultimately ended colonialism.”
The President firmly declared:
“Anyone who believes they can undermine Algeria with ease—or through hashtags—is gravely mistaken. Every Algerian carries the spirit of resistance in their veins.” He urged all officials to live up to the expectations of the people, particularly the youth, emphasizing, “This is not demagoguery; we are here to serve the people.”
President Tebboune stressed the importance of local officials and elected representatives being in continuous communication with citizens and treating them with dignity. He emphasized that local authorities must adhere to administrative protocols, particularly the duty to welcome and listen to citizens, with a special focus on youth concerns and ideas.
