Algiers – Several academic experts highlighted on Monday that the President of Algeria’s recent address to the nation underscores his firm commitment to establishing a state governed by the rule of law and principles of good governance. They described the speech, delivered Sunday, as a series of “strong messages” to adversaries and those targeting Algeria’s stability.
Key Domestic and International Highlights
Professor Mustafa Khawas noted that the President’s address covered significant internal and external issues, providing an overview of major achievements, particularly in the economic sector. He emphasized the national dialogue initiative proposed by the President as a crucial step to “strengthen the domestic front” and counteract schemes by adversaries seeking to undermine Algeria’s security and stability.
Professor Khawas praised the timing of this initiative, as it coincides with Algeria’s “important reforms amidst significant global changes.” He also lauded the President’s call for acknowledgment of crimes committed by the former colonial power and for addressing the lingering effects of nuclear testing, which continues to harm Algerians in the southern regions of the country.
