The technical committee tasked with evaluating the implementation of the roadmap from the first session of the Algeria-Tunisia Joint Committee for the Development and Promotion of Border Areas began its work on Tuesday in Tabarka, Tunisia, according to a statement by Algeria’s Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Development.
The statement emphasized that “in strengthening Algerian-Tunisian bilateral cooperation and following the outcomes of the meeting between the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Development, Mr. Ibrahim Merad, and his Tunisian counterpart, Mr. Khaled Noori, held on December 20, 2024, in Tunis, the technical committee’s sessions officially commenced on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Tabarka, Tunisia. This meeting follows the first session of the committee, held in Algeria from January 29 to 31, 2024.”
The statement added that the two-day meeting includes officials from both countries’ Ministries of Interior, along with significant participation from governors of the border regions of Algeria and Tunisia.
