Solidarity Convoy Delivers Aid to Wildfire-Affected Families in Annaba
A solidarity convoy carrying essential aid was launched on Tuesday to support residents and families of Seraïdi municipality in Annaba Province, as part of ongoing efforts to assist those affected by recent forest fires, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family, and Women’s Affairs.
The initiative comes in implementation of directives issued by Minister Soraya Mouloudji, aimed at ensuring continuous support and social assistance for families impacted by the fires. The ministry emphasized that the solidarity sector, in coordination with various partners and stakeholders, is actively deploying field programs to provide urgent assistance and help mitigate the consequences of this disaster.
The convoy, which departed on August 4, 2026, included a range of in-kind donations such as household appliances and bedding. These supplies are intended to meet the immediate and essential needs of affected households and help them recover from the damage caused by the fires.
The operation was organized by the Directorate of Social Action and Solidarity, with contributions from several public economic operators and representatives of civil society organizations. This collaborative effort reflects a unified response to support communities in distress.
The ministry also confirmed that it will continue monitoring the situation of affected families, ensuring both psychological and social care. These measures aim to ease the impact of the disaster and provide sustained support during the recovery phase.
