
Algiers – On Friday, Ibrahim Bougali, President of the People’s National Assembly, represented Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the official inauguration ceremony of the elected constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros. The event took place at the National Assembly headquarters in Caracas, as indicated in a statement issued by the Council.
During the ceremony, President Nicolás Maduro received the presidential sash and necklace from Jorge Rodríguez, the President of the National Assembly, before taking the oath and signing the official constitutional document confirming his inauguration.
In his speech at the close of the ceremony, President Maduro outlined key reforms he plans to implement during his 2025-2031 term. He also addressed several pressing national and international political and social issues.
The event was attended by members of the Venezuelan National Assembly, government officials, senior military leaders, and various heads of state and government, including representatives from Cuba, Nicaragua, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, as well as parliamentary leaders and diplomatic representatives from over 120 countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Additionally, over 2,000 attendees were present, including members of Venezuelan civil society, political figures, journalists from different countries, and representatives of international and regional economic and political organizations.
