Algiers – On Monday, January 13, 2025, Algeria’s Minister of Communication, Mr. Mohamed Meziane, received the Cuban Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Héctor Igarza Cabrera, during a working and friendship visit, according to a statement from the Ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Algeria and Cuba, with a focus on enhancing joint cooperation.
The two sides reviewed the agreements in the field of media signed between Algeria and Cuba, including:
- The 2023 agreement between the Algerian Press Agency (APS) and its Cuban counterpart, which is awaiting implementation to facilitate news and media content exchange.
- The 2023 agreement between Algerian Public Television and Cuban Television.
- Preparations for a new agreement between Algerian Public Radio and Cuban Radio, expected to be signed soon.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to work together to advance bilateral media relations toward greater collaboration and mutual benefit.
