Sahrawi Army Targets Moroccan Occupation Army Command in Mahbes Sector

Bir Lahlou (Liberated Sahrawi Territories) – On Friday, the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out an artillery strike targeting a Moroccan occupation army command headquarters in the Mahbes sector. The attack inflicted “severe losses in personnel and equipment,” according to a military statement issued by the Central Directorate of Political Affairs of the Sahrawi Army.

The statement, reported by the Sahrawi News Agency (SPS), confirmed that the SPLA continues its military operations, directing its firepower against the Royal Moroccan Army along the length of the sand wall. Advanced units of the Sahrawi army launched a “concentrated artillery bombardment on the cowardly royal army’s command headquarters in the occupied town of Mahbes” on Friday.

The statement further emphasized that the Sahrawi army’s attacks persist, targeting strongholds of Moroccan occupation forces along the so-called “Wall of Shame” (the sand wall), underscoring their commitment to dismantling Moroccan control over Sahrawi territories.

This development is part of the ongoing conflict between the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) and Morocco, stemming from the decades-long dispute over Western Sahara. The Sahrawi army, operating under the leadership of the Polisario Front, has intensified its operations against Moroccan positions in response to what they describe as ongoing occupation and violations of Sahrawi sovereignty.
