President Tebboune Receives Special Envoy of Mauritanian President

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Mr. Merzoug delivered a message from his counterpart, President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Office of the Presidency, Mr. Boualem Boualem, and the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Algeria and Mauritania, as well as addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest. Both nations have historically maintained strong diplomatic and economic ties, and this meeting reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in various sectors.

A Message of Solidarity
The message conveyed by Mr. Merzoug highlighted Mauritania’s appreciation for Algeria’s role in promoting stability and development in the region. It also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to address shared challenges, including security, economic integration, and sustainable development.
