Ramallah – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed efforts to establish and maintain a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid and countering plans of forced displacement.
In his speech on Thursday to the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah movement, President Abbas stated, “We renew our categorical rejection of all Zionist practices, including settlement expansion, land theft, and attacks on our people and holy sites in the West Bank and Jerusalem.”
President Abbas called for urgent and serious action to implement the two-state solution and end the occupation based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. He emphasized the need to work in international forums and courts, along with the global coalition and the Arab-Islamic committee, to mobilize international support for the two-state solution.
He stressed the importance of maintaining Palestinian rights and securing international recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations.
