Algeria – The Ministry of Justice announced in a statement on Monday that citizens can now obtain an Algerian nationality certificate by simply presenting their national biometric ID card or biometric passport, without the need to submit any additional administrative documents.
In this context, the Ministry of Justice informed citizens that they can obtain their Algerian nationality certificate from the nearest court by merely presenting their national biometric ID card or biometric passport, provided their identity is verified in the national database for nationality certificates.
The same source added that “for citizens whose identities are not yet verified in the database, the nationality certificate will be issued after they provide the necessary documents proving their eligibility. Once issued, they will automatically be registered in the database of verified identities, allowing them to obtain the nationality certificate in the future by simply presenting their national biometric ID card or biometric passport.”
The Ministry further stated that “these measures, which came into effect yesterday on March 16, 2025, are part of the ongoing efforts by the justice sector to improve the performance of judicial services and simplify administrative procedures for citizens.”
