On Thursday, Algeria’s Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call from his French counterpart, Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot, following a Monday call between President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and French President Emmanuel Macron, according to a ministry statement.
The statement read: “Following the March 31, 2025, call between President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and French President Emmanuel Macron, Mr. Ahmed Attaf received a call today from Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot.”
Mr. Barrot is scheduled to make an official visit to Algeria on Sunday at Mr. Attaf’s invitation. The call allowed the ministers to review key issues prioritized by both presidents for special attention, within the broader context of resolving recent disputes that have disrupted the normal course of Algerian-French relations, the statement added.
