The management of Qatar’s Al-Sadd Club has defended its Algerian international player, Yousef Atal, following a French court ruling sentencing him to 8 months in prison and a 45,000-euro fine for his earlier support of the Palestinian cause.
In a statement, Al-Sadd said: “The unjust ruling against our player Yousef Atal stems from his humanitarian stance and support for our people in Gaza—a courageous position reflecting the conscience of every free individual.”
The statement emphasized that “Atal’s stance is a natural and sincere expression of human conscience,” affirming that Al-Sadd will spare no effort in mobilizing its resources to defend him in this just cause.
The Qatari club’s management also highlighted that humanitarian values should not be subject to double standards or discrimination in judging the oppressed. http://dzwatch.dz
