Algiers – Transport Minister Saïd Saioud conducted a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday to explore ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership in the sector, according to a statement from the ministry.
The visit, carried out under the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, saw Mr. Saioud accompanied by a significant delegation from the sector, the statement added. He was received by Omani Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, Said bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, and Omani Minister of Economy, Said Al-Saqri, in the presence of Algeria’s Ambassador to Oman.
Following the reception ceremony, a working session was held between the delegations of both countries to “exchange views on topics of mutual interest related to various transport modes—air, sea, and land—and to explore investment opportunities available between the two nations.” The session also “reviewed bilateral relations and discussed enhancing existing cooperation between the two sisterly countries in the transport sector to serve common interests and bring further benefits to both friendly peoples,” the statement noted.
