Algeria has taken another major step forward in consolidating its position as a reliable global energy supplier. At the Tin Fouye Tabankort production hub in Illizi, the government inaugurated a series of new energy facilities that strengthen both production capacity and worker welfare. Among the projects is a state-of-the-art living complex offering modern accommodation, dining, and leisure spaces for over 120 employees, a development hailed as a decisive step in enhancing productivity and dignity at work.
The new infrastructure significantly expands the hub’s capabilities, with upgraded separation units, storage tanks, a modern gas treatment plant, and advanced water-injection systems. Output capacity has now been boosted to over 50,000 barrels of oil per day and more than five million cubic meters of gas daily, with a substantial portion allocated for export. Officials emphasized that this consolidation not only secures energy self-sufficiency but also fuels export revenues vital to national prosperity.
Further downstream initiatives include expanded Naftal fuel stations in Illizi and improved aviation fuel distribution. A highlight of the inauguration was the Ain Tsila gas complex, capable of treating 12 million cubic meters of gas daily while producing LPG and powering a 125 MW plant. The addition of a new airport at Tin Fouye Tabankort completes the package, ensuring efficient logistics and strengthening economic links with southern regions.
By coupling technological modernization with a clear focus on human well-being, Algeria’s energy expansion underscores the government’s long-term vision: an energy sector that sustains growth while serving the people.
