President of the Republic Chairs Working Meeting Dedicated to the Trade SectorAlgiers – On Thursday, August 28, 2025, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, chaired a working meeting focused on the trade sector and strengthening mechanisms for regulating the national market, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
During the meeting, the President issued “orders and directives to enhance vigilance in supplying the national market with various needs, to prevent any form of fluctuation or shortage affecting widely consumed products,” the statement noted.
President Tebboune emphasized “the need to operate with the necessary rigor to meet citizens’ needs and to uphold and enforce the Republic’s laws, ensuring continued efforts to combat fraud, speculation, and any actions that undermine the livelihood of Algerians.”
The President also praised “the integrity of the majority of economic operators and farmers, and their significant role in supporting the state’s efforts to regulate the market,” the statement added.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Prime Minister, Seifi Gherib; Lieutenant General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army; Boualem Boualem, Director of the Presidential Cabinet; Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies; as well as ministers from the sectors of Finance, Agriculture, Industry, Internal Trade and Market Regulation, Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, and Pharmaceutical Industry. Also present were the Advisor to the President for the General Directorate of Communication, the Director General of Internal Security, the Acting Commander of the National Gendarmerie, the Head of the Organization and Logistics Department of the People’s National Army Staff, the Director General of National Security, the Governor of the Bank of Algeria, and the President of the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions.
Additionally, the meeting included the heads and directors general of the Algerian Professional Grain Office, the National Professional Office for Milk and Dairy Products, the “Agrodiv” Group, Naftal, the Central Hospital Pharmacy, the “Agrolog” Food Industries and Logistics Group, and the Saidal Company, according to the Presidency’s statement.
