Chinese manufacturer Kibing Group announced plans for a major solar-glass facility in Algeria. The project aims for an annual output of around 1.53 million tonnes of solar glass, supported by a silica-sand line and auxiliary infrastructure. The plant is expected to create thousands of jobs and bolster localization of the PV value chain, with production targeted roughly within 24 months of groundbreaking.
By anchoring high-volume glass production inside the country, the project supports competitive module assembly, encourages downstream investments, and strengthens Algeria’s role as a North African hub for clean-energy industries serving both domestic demand and export markets.
