Algeria signs $300 M agreement to export locally made payment terminals

At the Intra-African Trade Fair in Algiers, the Algerian Telephony Industry (Inatel) signed a US$300 million contract with China’s Morefun Electronic Technology to supply Nigeria with two million electronic payment terminals. The devices will be produced in Algeria and exported to Nigeria, boosting local manufacturing and reinforcing Algeria’s presence in Africa’s digital market. Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki said the deal reflects Algeria’s strategy of industrial diversification and economic integration within Africa.
