Merrad Receives Chinese Delegation

Algiers – On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning, Ibrahim Murad, welcomed a Chinese delegation led by Hu Minglang, Vice Minister of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China, at the ministry’s headquarters. The meeting was attended by the Director General of Civil Protection, Boualam Boughlaf, according to a statement from the ministry reported by aps.dz and other sources.

At the outset of the meeting, both sides highlighted the deep historical ties between the two friendly nations and the sustained pace of bilateral cooperation, inspired by the high-level directives of the leaders of both countries.

The discussions focused on exploring prospects for cooperation between the two ministries in the areas of disaster risk management and emergency response, as well as ways to enhance the fruitful exchange of expertise and move toward a more operational phase of joint bilateral efforts.

On this occasion, the Chinese Vice Minister of Emergency Management commended the high level of professionalism observed during his visit to various Algerian Civil Protection facilities and noted the significant advancements in their intervention mechanisms. He also praised the values of sacrifice and courage displayed by the members of this noble institution and their strong commitment to protecting people and their property.

This meeting underscores Algeria’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with China, particularly in critical areas such as emergency management and civil protection, reflecting the strategic partnership between the two nations.
