Boumerdes – The activities of the 27th edition of the National Quran Week concluded this evening, Wednesday, in Boumerdes with the participation of more than 900 male and female Quran memorizers who competed over three days for top ranks in various scheduled Quranic competitions.
In his closing speech for the event, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Mr. Ridwan Maâch, praised the success of this edition, which aims to instill the values of our noble religion in the youth, such as tolerance and solidarity, and to contribute to the national effort to strengthen social cohesion.
Following this, a package of recommendations crowned this edition, notably the necessity for all societal actors at all levels to engage in initiatives aimed at protecting society from various scourges, rejecting all forms of violence, and confronting attempts to destabilize the country.
It is worth mentioning that this event, hosted at the lecture hall of Oum Rabia Bougara University, was organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments in coordination with the Boumerdes Wilaya and various concerned sectors.
On this occasion, the National Imam Day was also commemorated with a scientific forum under the slogan “From the Pulpits of Our Mosques, the Cohesion of Our Nation is Rooted,” along with another national scientific forum titled “Social Cohesion and National Unity in Light of Quranic Values.” The event also included lectures by university professors, imams, and specialists in various fields.
