Algiers – The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Yamahi, addressed a congratulatory message to the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly and President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, Mr. Brahim Boughali, on the occasion of Algeria’s accession to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) as the sole observer member, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the Assembly.
The statement highlighted that Al-Yamahi “expressed his heartfelt congratulations and highest regards for Algeria’s membership in AIPA, while commending the distinguished efforts led by the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Mr. Boughali.” He stressed that this “major achievement represents a culmination of Algeria’s constructive parliamentary action and reflects the significant weight the Algerian legislature holds at both regional and international levels.”
In conclusion, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament extended his best wishes to the people of Algeria for “greater security and prosperity under the wise leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” affirming Algeria’s growing influence as a nation that upholds peace, justice, and the right of peoples to self-determination, including the just cause of Western Sahara, despite the hostile maneuvers of the Moroccan regime seeking to obstruct such legitimate struggles.
